Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Sunny Sets, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use paid features. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement. A parent or legal guardian may book a session for a minor; the guardian accepts these terms on the minor's behalf, is responsible for the booking, and is responsible for supervising the minor.
3. User accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Peer-to-peer transactions
Sunny Sets is a marketplace that connects players, coaches, and other service providers. We are not a party to transactions between users. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of sessions or services listed on the platform.
5. Coaches and paid hitters are independent
Coaches, paid hitters and other providers who offer sessions on Sunny Sets are independent businesses, not our employees or agents. They set their own prices, availability and terms within our policies. Unless a profile expressly says otherwise, we do not verify providers' certifications, ratings, experience or background, and we do not supervise sessions. Providers also agree to our Provider Terms (/provider-terms).
6. Assumption of risk
Tennis is a physical activity that carries an inherent risk of injury, including from heat, falls, collisions and being struck by a ball or racquet. You are responsible for judging whether you are fit to play, for your own equipment, and for your own safety. You take part in any session, paid or free, at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release Sunny Sets from claims arising from injury, loss or damage during a session, including sessions with other users. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Meeting other users
Sessions take place in person with people you meet through the platform. Meet at the court, tell someone where you're going, and leave if you feel unsafe — leaving for safety is never a no-show. Report concerning behavior through the app, and contact emergency services first if anyone is in danger.
8. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to: (a) post false or misleading information; (b) harass, threaten, or harm other users; (c) use the platform for any unlawful purpose; (d) attempt to circumvent our payment system; or (e) use automated tools to access the platform without permission.
9. Payments and fees
Payments are processed by a third-party provider (Stripe). Sunny Sets charges a platform fee on transactions. See our Payments & Refunds policy for details. We are not responsible for errors made by payment processors.
10. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations, refunds, weather, court availability, lateness, no-shows and disputes for paid sessions are governed by our Session & Dispute Policy (/no-show-policy), which you accept each time you book. Fees and payout timing are described in our Payments & Refunds policy (/payments).
11. Content
You retain ownership of content you post on Sunny Sets. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content in connection with the platform. You are solely responsible for the content you post.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sunny Sets and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
14. Modifications
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
